The London Borough of Newham wants to launch a cargo-bike hire service targeted at residents doing their weekly shop.
Newham principal policy officer Steve Tennison told councillors: “The transportation of bulky goods (such as a weekly shop) is very challenging by sustainable means. Cargo bikes are available, but are very expensive for individuals, especially if only required for occasional use.
