A cathedral service was held in honour ginger cat who became a social media star for hanging out in a supermarket.

Tributes were paid to Garfield the cat at Ely Cathedral, which holds an annual service in celebration of animals.

Garfield died in July after being hit by a vehilce the car park of the Sainsbury’s store in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Garfield was often found patrolling the car park or relaxed on sofa in the lobby being petted by customers.
