The number of vehicles and cycles stolen or damaged when parked at railway stations has increased by almost 5%, according to the British Transport Police.
There were a total of 9,588 notifiable offences involving motor vehicles and cycles during 2018-19, a 4.97% increase on 2017-18.
There were 419 recorded incidents of cars being stolen in 2018-19, compared to 418 the previous year.
Incidents of thefts from vehicles rose to 823 in 20918-19, compared to 651 the previous year.
