Paris is converting underground garages into mushroom farms

Paris built many underground car parks in the 1960s and ’70s as housing blocks mushroomed across the city. 

Policies developed by the city authorities to curb use of polluting vehicles, as well as the spread of new cab and bike services, have led to a fall in car ownership.
