Kent rules out highways Teckal

Kent County Council is to restructure how highways maintenance services are delivered but has ruled out creating a council-owned Teckal company. 

The council has reviewed four options for after its current term maintenance contract with Amey ends next August: 

extend the contract to August 2021 

procure a new contract on a like-for-like basis 

disaggregate the contract 

a Teckal partnering model between the council and council-owned company Commercial Services Kent Ltd...
