There are now 634,000 unlicensed vehicles driving on the UK’s roads, according to estimates made by the Department for Transport (DfT) following an observational study.
The current levels of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) evasion suggest that the Treasury is losing out on about £94m a year, said the RAC Foundation, which has analysed the figures.
