TfL trials sound for electric buses

Transport for London is to trial a new sound on electric buses to alert pedestrians and cyclists to their presence. The sound is played through speakers inside the front of the bus when the vehicle is moving below 12mph or stationary at a stop. The sound will initially be trialled on the 100 route between St Paul’s Cathedral and Shadwell from January.
