Motorists using public electric vehicle charging points in Edinburgh will soon have to pay to do so. 

The city council is planning to introduce a 20p per kWh charge for all types of charger, plus a connection fee of £2 for a slow charger, 30p for a fast charger, and £1 for a rapid charger. 

Edinburgh says the 20p/kWh charge rate is the maximum level that Transport Scotland recommends for councils who choose to introduce charges at ChargePlace Scotland public charge...
