Walking campaigner Irvin recognised in New Years’ Honours

Joe Irvin, chief executive of Living Streets, has received an OBE for his services to walking, active travel and the wider charity sector. Since joining Living Streets in 2014, Irvin has championed the rights of pedestrians.

Over the past five years he has been part of a campaign that saw the UK government’s first-ever Cycling and Walking investment strategy and helped shape a walking and cycling alliance to promote the concept of active travel.
