New biodegradable bags for parking tickets are being used in the London Borough of Brent.
According to the council the bags, while compostable, are durable enough to withstand adverse weather conditions for several weeks.
Cllr Krupa Sheth, responsible for the environment at Brent Council, said: “Small actions add up, which is why we’re taking this step to reduce single-use plastics in our operations.”
