It’s greener to fly to Cornwall than use the train, say airports

Travelling by air between Newquay and London emits half the carbon dioxide emissions per passenger of the equivalent journey by train, according to a new computer model developed by a group representing smaller UK airports.

The report was overshadowed this week by regional airline Flybe’s collapse. It was the operator of the Newquay - London route (see panel).
