Sunday lorry ban – not council policy

07 August 2020

Hampshire County Council says it has no firm plan for a Sunday lorry ban in the county. The Road Haulage Association and Freight Transport Association have both criticised the idea which was listed in a carbon reduction action plan presented to councillors last month (LTT 24 Jul).  A council spokeswoman told LTT: “The action plan is a combination of existing actions, plans, policies and proposals, which will be further refined before going to the county council’s cabinet for approval on 29 September. Each action will need further detailed investigation as to its viability and feasibility before it is included in the final plan.”
