An electric vehicle (EV) charging hub with capacity for 26 vehicles has been officially opened at Falkirk Stadium.
The £1.4m project comprises five rapid 50 KW DC charge points and eight fast 22 kW units, all able to charge two cars at a time.
The points form part of the ChargePlace Scotland network.
Situated not far from the M9, the charging hub should generate more than 30% of its required energy from the solar canopies. This will save an estimated 75 tonnes of CO2 a year.
Funding has come from the Scottish Government, Falkirk Council, and the European Regional Development Fund. Featuring both rapid and fast charge points, the hub is part of Scotland’s Electric A9 project, which looks to make EV charging extensively available along a core route.
