M25 ‘not a London bypass’

Very little car and taxi traffic on the M25 is avoiding London entirely, analysis for the RAC Foundation has found. 

Data from more than four million trips on the road shows that only 14 per cent bypassed the capital completely. The majority –  74 per cent – had an origin or destination in the capital and the remaining 12 per cent of trips began and ended in the capital. 

The M1 was the most significant feeder into the M25, followed by the M4, M3, M40 and A2....
