HS2 has launched the procurement process for a construction contractor to build the Interchange Station near Birmingham. The contract is expected to support up to 1000 jobs and help the regeneration of the area around the station.
The expected cost is £370m, around £100m higher than a 2019 estimate. HS2 maintains that the original figure did not included any contingency or inflationary rises. Around £10m has been also added to allow for road improvements and other enhancements...
