Plans for a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) across Greater Manchester have been put on hold, with local authorities in the region seeking a Government review of policy, including into the availability and affordability of cleaner vehicles. More work is needed to understand whether the CAZ, due to start on 30 May, would create “significant financial hardship for commercial vehicle users”, said the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).
