Pengelly to chair BSI standards development committee

Ian Pengelly has taken over from independent consultant Dr Jon Harrod-Booth as chair of the British Standards Institution’s Standards Development committee. Pengelly, who is associate director at consultant WSP,  is a member of the Intelligent Transport Systems industry association, ITS (UK).

In his role with ITS (UK), Pengelly has been involved in BSI workshops to identify the priorities for the industry for standards development. This includes work on Connected and Automated Vehicle standards, including in an AV shuttle trial to help inform whether any updates were required. He has also been involved in standardisation of the interfaces between traffic management systems, electronic signage and within the Midlands Future Mobility Testbed.
