The business case for a rail link linking Rawtenstall and Manchester has been submitted to the DfT. Consultants SYSTRA have been appointed by Rossendale Council and Lancashire County Council to produce the report and explore a number of potential solutions.
The councils are hoping to receive the green light on funding for the next stage by Spring 2023.
