Government’s approach to waste crime is closer to decriminalisation than tackling problem, say MPs

The government has no strategy or plan for achieving its ambitious target of eliminating waste crime by 2043, says an influential Parliamentary committee.

In a new report, the House of Commons Parliamentary Affairs Committee says that Defra and the Environment Agency are making only “slow and piecemeal” progress in implementing the 2018 Resources and Waste Strategy.
