‘Keep left’ safety campaign targets tourists to improve A9 accident record

Overseas tourists in the Highlands will be reminded to drive on the left as part of a £5m package of measures to address the recent poor safety record of the A9 road.

Scottish transport minister Jenny Gilruth promised urgent safety measures in November, when the 2022 death toll on the A9 between Perth and Inverness had reached 15. In each of the previous three years, there was only one fatal accident on that part of the A9.
