Next section of A9 dualling delayed after ‘unaffordable’ bid received

The Scottish Government has cancelled its procurement of the next section of A9 dualling after receiving only one tender, which was priced significantly higher than expected. However, Transport Scotland is preparing a new procurement exercise.

In December 2021, three bidders were invited to bid for the contract to dual a further six miles of the A9, between Tomatin and Moy. The deadline for tenders was October 2022, but transport minister Jenny Gilruth told MSPs on 8 February:...
