Stagecoach South East has begun competing with Go Ahead subsidiary Brighton & Hove Bus Company by re-entering the Brighton-Eastbourne corridor.
It is offering a new Monday to Saturday daytime hourly route 701, run by its Eastbourne operation via Seaford and Newhaven.
Stagecoach is challenging Brighton & Hove on the route where it has been long providing a high profile, Coaster branded 12/12A/12X service with up to nine-buses-an-hour.
