The Royal Borough of Greenwich will be trialling traffic calming measures in east and west Greenwich over an 18-month period to tackle air pollution, improve road safety, and reduce traffic.

Traffic calming is seen as essential if the council is to deliver the aims of its Carbon Neutral Plan, which includes a range of measures to help encourage walking, cycling and public transport, reduce traffic, improve air quality, and support the roll-out of ultra-low emission vehicles.
