More data relating to the Welsh default 20mph limit in urban areas has been published, including analysis which suggests that journey times have become less variable since the default limit changed in September 2023.

The latest Welsh road safety data, published last week, shows that the numbers of collisions and casualties recorded by police on 20mph and 30mph roads combined was 24% lower (for both collisions and casualties) in April to June 2024 than in the same quarter in 2023.
