Cyclists who wear a helmet are more at risk of being struck by an overtaking motorist than those who do not wear head protection, according to a researcher from the University of Bath. Traffic psychologist Ian Walker used a bicycle fitted with a computer and an ultrasonic distance sensor to record data from overtaking motorists in Salisbury and Bristol.
