DARWEN GROUP, the new parent of bus builder East Lancs, has concluded a deal to buy product development business Leyland Product Developments for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Leyland, LPD was established in 1994 following a management buyout of the product development division of the Volvo Bus. It is primarily known for designing commercial vehicle chassis and body structures. It is likely the purchase will assist with Darwen’s well known hybrid bus plans.
