2Travel boss is back in business once again

In 2005 AIM-listed bus and coach group 2Travel went into liquidation after a period of combative competition with Cardiff Bus. Today 2Travel’s former chief executive Bev Fowles is back in the bus business as the owner of small Neath-based independent South Wales Transport and enjoying the unlisted life. Rhodri Clark reports

Nobody could personify the adage “once bitten, twice shy” better than Bev Fowles. After the collapse of AIM-listed 2Travel, where he was chief executive, he now spends his last years before retirement in an office on a small industrial estate in Neath, South Wales. He has no great ambitions for his bus company and speaks bitterly of the effect stock-market listing had on 2Travel.
