The DfT has poured cold water on Herefordshire Council’s plans to build a bypass for Hereford.
Plans for a Hereford Outer Distributor Road were included in the West Midlands’ region’s RFA2 advice submitted to the Department this February. But the Department said last week that the proposal was “premature” and reminded the council of the controversy that has surrounded earlier proposals for a bypass round the city in the 1990s.
