Roy Stanley, its principal shareholder and former chairman of Blackburn-based bus manufacturer Optare, has retired from the company’s board.
Stanley was the creator of today’s Optare business when he reversed Darwen Group into Optare in June 2008 and will remain as the company’s largest shareholder. He has decided to step down from the board in order to avoid any potential future conflict of interest as he devotes more time to his other business interests.
