Dr Mike Mitchell, head of the Department for Transport Rail Group, has been cleared of assault charges at Peterborough Magistrates Court. It was alleged that Mitchell had assaulted a GNER employee onboard a London to Newcastle service last year.
His solicitor said: “Dr Mitchell is relieved to have been acquitted of any wrongdoing but remains concerned that proceedings were brought against him in the first place.”...
