First urged to scrap driver’s hours plan

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has joined Norwich MP Ian Gibson in calling for First to scrap plans for drivers at its Eastern Counties subsidiary to spend more time behind the wheel without a break.

The operator is currently looking at increasing the amount of time drivers spend behind the wheel without a break to five and a half hours as part of its pay talks with the T&G union.
