I must correct one error in Paul Biggs’ response to my letter, in which I pointed out that the Campaign for Better Transport and other transport and environmental non-governmental organisations have serious misgivings about the current plans for high-speed rail; misgivings that we share with the Association of British Drivers.
The Campaign for Better Transport did not “set up a charitable arm in order to use taxpayers’ money to lobby the Government” as Mr Biggs claims....
