Greening changes HS2 route to minimise impact on householders and the environment

Transport Secretary Justine Greening has announced changes to the phase 1 London-Birmingham HS2 route proposed during consultation in order to address concerns expressed and minimise HS2’s impact on communities and the environment. The DfT estimates that the revised route will halve the number of dwellings at risk of land take and reduce the number experiencing increased noise levels by a third.
