Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority will be dissolved if the Government approves plans to set up a Combined Authority for the Liverpool City Region. The proposed CA would cover the five Merseyside districts and neighbouring Halton. A dedicated transport joint committee is likely to be set up to provide specialist advice to the CA.
