Bus passenger numbers in London reached 2.4 billion in 2013/14 – the highest recorded since 1959, according to Transport for London. Between 1999/2000 and 2013/14 ridership increased 69% and bus kilometres rose 41%. The capital accounts for half of all bus passenger journeys in England. TfL has announced plans to publish annual passenger journeys and bus kilometres operated on each of the capital’s nearly 700 routes. The first data will be released by the end of the year....
