Is there any substance behind the 20’s Plenty slogan?

After reading the interview with 20’s Plenty for Us founder Rod King, the overriding conclusion to be drawn is how little his views have been rigorously challenged (‘King anticipates the day when 20mph limits rule Britain’s streets’ LTT?03 Apr).

Certainly that rigour is unlikely to come from the majority of (left-leaning urban) politicians to whom he is pitching his ideas to. 20mph limits are attractive to these politicians because it gives the impression that they are...
