Designating A Key Route Network (KRN) of roads in the Liverpool City Region will have far-reaching consequences for road maintenance funding and delivery, say the councils.
A KRN was included in the devolution agreement for the Liverpool city region struck between ministers and the councils last year. The KRN will be managed by the combined authority (CA) on behalf of the city region mayor, who will be elected next May.
