Plans to complete the dualling of the A358 between the M5 at Taunton and the A303 at Southfields have been published for consultation by Highways England. A preferred route will be announced this winter and work could start in spring 2020. The options are calculated to have ‘initial’ benefit cost ratios (BCRs) of between 1.44 and 1.81 and ‘adjusted’ BCRs of between 1.54 and 2.08 (including reliability benefits).
