Councils in West Northamptonshire want the Government to support a study into re-opening a railway connecting the West Coast and Midland main lines.
The north-south 14-mile line between Market Harborough, on the Midland Main Line, and Northampton, on a loop line off the West Coast Main Line, closed to passengers in 1973. The last train to run over the route was in 1981.
