London mayor Sadiq Khan is to set up a £25m fund to help low income Londoners scrap their old cars.
The announcement comes just weeks before Transport for London introduces the ultra low emission zone (ULEZ) on 8 April and covering the congestion charge area. Vehicles that fail to meet the minimum Euro emission standard will have to pay a daily charge (£12.50 for cars and vans, £100 for lorries, buses and coaches).
