Milton Keynes Council has stopped paying bus operators reimbursement for concessionary travel at the levels recommended by the DfT.
Since the Covid pandemic began the DfT has asked local transport authorities to continue paying operators reimbursement at pre-Covid levels, even though trips by English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passholders have slumped. The request is part of a wider financial package to stop operators going bust.
