Transport campaigners say an imbalance between capital and revenue funding is at the root of the removal of active travel facilities.

While there has been considerable focus in the last 12 months on removal of cycling and walking measures installed during the pandemic, some towns were reversing pedestrianisation schemes long before Covid-19.
