Bus lane camera’s sweater PCN was not a stitch-up

A couple were sent a penalty for driving in a Bath bus lane after a camera mistook a word on a woman’s clothing for their number plate.

A camera had registered the word ‘knitter’ on a sweater worn by a pedestrian crossing the road for the number plate KN19 TER.

This image led to the car’s owners, Dave and Paula Knight receiving a penalty notice from Bath and North East Somerset Council (BANES) in the post.
