EU agrees to ban ICE vehicles by 2035

The European Union has proposed a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035 with the aim of accelerating the switch to zero-emission electric vehicles (EVs).

The changes made on 29 June mean that, as of 2035, all new cars and vans placed on the market in the EU will need to produce zero tailpipe emissions.
