A new road to “divert rat running” away from Melton Mowbray town centre in Leicestershire will “reduce congestion improve air quality and provide faster local journeys”, according to the Government.
The £115.2m scheme includes £49.5 from the Government, alongside £51.7m from Leicestershire County Council and £14m by private funding.
