The biggest reductions in the 85th percentile traffic speed in the Welsh 20mph pilots have been observed in the two areas where the speed limit reduction attracted the most controversy, an interim monitoring report reveals.
The default speed limit on restricted roads will become 20mph in September. Ahead of the change, the Welsh Government and local authorities arranged 20mph pilots in eight areas, ranging from rural villages to north Cardiff and the whole of Abergavenny.
