Many local authorities in Wales have still not placed maps of 20mph exceptions on the Welsh Government’s portal, less than three months before 20mph becomes the default speed limit on restricted roads. Some have yet to commence public consultation.

The government set up the portal last year on the DataMapWales website to provide Wales-wide transparency, not only for communities but also for businesses which use the road network and may need to amend schedules, routes and resources in...
