Cyclehoop has launched a new initiative aimed at providing cycle parking solutions for schools in need to support healthier active travel options for students across the UK,

The Cyclehoop Education Fund aims to make cycling to school more accessible and convenient for students of all ages, reducing traffic congestion in the local neighbourhood and encouraging physical activity.

Schools apply through the Cyclehoop website up until the 15 November 2024.

With increasing concerns about climate change and the need for greener transport solutions, schools play a critical role in fostering good habits that promote sustainability from a young age.

Cyclehoop’s initiative provides grants and industry knowledge to help schools install safe and secure cycle parking facilities, ensuring that students have a place to safely store their bikes during the school day.

Selected schools will then participate in a workshop with Cyclehoop’s team of experts to establish the best solution for their site. Then, dependent on the scale of the project, they will receive full or partial funding to install their state-of-the-art cycle parking solution. The Cyclehoop Education Fund is designed to be simple and accessible, so schools of all sizes can benefit from the initiative.

Schools interested in applying for the fund can visit the application form to apply. Applications are open until the 15 November 2024. Cyclehoop encourages all schools to apply and be part of the movement towards healthier, more sustainable school commutes.

Priority will be given to those applications able to illustrate a clear need for improved cycle parking.
