More than 40 rental electric bikes have been seized by Kensington & Chelsea Council because, it says, they had been left in “dangerous and obstructive positions” on the street. A total of 30 Lime bikes and 12 Forest bikes were removed in the first phase of the operation.

The operators have paid more than £3,000 in fees to the council to cover the costs of storing the bikes and releasing them, with all 42 now returned.
