The Rees Jeffreys Road Fund is celebrating 150 years since the birth of its benefactor William Rees Jeffreys by running a major new Competition, to be launched at this webinar, and with winners announced in early December 2021.
The Fund’s Trustees are looking for 150 new ideas: how can we ensure our roads and streets deliver a better outcome for all of us?
There is up to £150,000 available to fund the best suggestions, and a range of great prizes for new and innovative ideas, creatively presented.
The Trustees are encouraging entries from everyone – from school children to big business.
Says Trustee Steve Gooding: ‘What’s your vision of the way in which our roads (motorways, highways or streets) could best work for us all as we square up to the challenges of the next 50 years?
'As we look out to 2050 and beyond - 2050 will be the 100thanniversary of the creation of the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund – we want to see, hear and learn, and to reward the brilliant ideas you may have about the role roads might play in the future.
‘Plus, if you are looking to propose an idea that you want to take forward, we are offering five £5,000 development grants to selected entrants so they can develop their idaes and pitch for up to £150,000 from the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund to bring those ideas closer to implementation.’
The webinar will officially launch the Competition and its website, outline what the Trustees are looking for, and explain how to enter.
